Team Lead 2

The Team Lead 2 is responsible for following procedures for all inbound and outbound materials activities, all warehouse activities, inventory control, quality and financial audits, material flow, and safety standards as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate basic problem solving skills
  • Assign personnel to workstations
  • Ensure personnel are rotating according to schedule to maintain proficiency
  • Position team members at start of shift to maintain adequate hourly/daily output to standard work and line balance
  • Verify all team members are using PPE (ear plugs, safety glasses, gloves, shoes)
  • Provide PPE to team members as needed
  • Adhere to all safety requirements in the department
  • Ensure Warehouse paperwork is being maintained and accurate (receipts, shipments, transfers, scrap tickets, and stock tickets)
  • Technical expert on all AX transactions -- ability to reconcile discrepancies as needed
  • Train team members as needed on all warehouse material processes and procedures.
  • Train team members to operate a forklift / Train all team members on safe forklift operation
  • Identify and resolve conflict with team
  • Work closely with Supervisor / Facilitator on team tasks
  • Work with material and assembly teams to ensure smooth, trouble free changeovers
  • Work with engineer support on any suggestions, improvements or issues that will improve material storage and flow
  • Fill in for team members when needed
  • Work with Quality Team on any potential or current quality issues that arise

  • Must adhere to attendance policy
  • Responsible for Morning meetings
  • Seeks out new technology / methods from other areas that can be incorporated into current process for improvement

  • Monitor shift start up excerise, all team members participate
  • Assist the Supervisor in establishing new warehouse procedures, including implementation and providing the necessary training
  • Initiate and implement problem resolution without focused direction
  • Develop traing methods and materials for employees in job type
  • Work with outside personnel -- suppliers, transportation firms, offsite locations to resolve problems

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of warehouse, inventory, cycle counting, or equivalent experience
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
